Inside the taquería

Our story

FROM JALISCO TO
SAN ANTONIO

The neighborhood

Named after the place that taught us to cook.

Huentitán is a neighborhood on the edge of Guadalajara, in the Mexican state of Jalisco — the homeland of charros, mariachi, tequila, and the kind of food that brings whole families to the table every Sunday.

We opened our taquería on Fredericksburg Rd to bring that exact feeling to San Antonio: hand-pressed tortillas, salsa made every morning, and a pot of menudo on the stove before sunrise — every single day of the week.

The kitchen

No shortcuts. No substitutions.

Our menudo simmers overnight. Our chicharrón is fried in-house. The carne al pastor comes off the grill the way it has for three generations — with bell pepper, jalapeños, charro beans, and a side of guacamole.

That's why our menu reads "no substitutions or any substitution will be extra charge." Every plate is built a specific way for a specific reason — usually because somebody's grandmother said so.

"Abierto los 7 días a la semana."

Open seven days a week — because real hospitality doesn't take a day off.
